It’s been a fairly quiet week of movie watching. I didn’t review anything last week, although I did see Free Fire, which I will be reviewing soon.
Meanwhile, I’ve done a lot of movie watching with my parents, especially since everything’s in reruns right now. I had my second viewing of Fences, which is still one of the best-acted and best-written movies in recent memory, even if the direction isn’t all it’s cracked up to be (sorry Denzel, at least you were great). I also finally got around to watching The Founder, which was a decently acted and directed movie, not that it could be saved from a truly god-awful script. And finally, I got around to watching John Wick, which was such a fun-dumb movie, I couldn’t help but love it.
On TV, I’ve mainly stuck to The Middle and Feud, two of the best shows on TV right now. I also had a chance to watch the new episode of Veep, which is such a great show. I haven’t had a chance to watch it in a long time, but God, it’s still great. They turn swearing into an art form (although they’re sticking to scatological humor at the moment, which isn’t my favorite). You really can’t go wrong with those three.
Oh, and in terms of listening, the recent episode of How Did This Get Made? on The Lake House is a work of art, and I can’t get enough of Rebecca Black’s new music. YES, I LOVE HER, SHE’S A TRUE ARTIST!!!! Anyway, I hope you had a good week of viewing, and let me know in the comments what you’ve been watching. Until next week!
